About two years ago, The Rotary Club of Magnolia decided to become involved in creating a Magnolia "Heart Safe" community. The Magnolia Rotary subsequently raised over $21,000 to purchase 12 automatic portable Defibrillators that have since been installed throughout Magnolia.

On Thursday, October 11 th , at 6:00 p.m., at the Magnolia Community Center, the Magnolia Rotary Club will officially gift these 12 Defibrillators to the Magnolia Heart Safe Foundation. The public is invited to a demonstration of an automatic Defibrillator, to meet the representatives of those businesses and institutions where the Defibrillators are located, and to meet the board members of the newly formed Magnolia Heart Safe Foundation. Refreshments will be served following the program.

The Magnolia Heart Safe Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed to provide for the care, maintenance, service, and training on how to use these initial 12 Defibrillators, and any additional Defibrillators that may be acquired.
